| Bio: | “Mistakes are for homo sapiens, sir. Not The Angel!” --Warren, from Uncanny X-Men #1 PLAYER INFORMATION: Player Name:Khush Age:29 Contact Information: condemned.knight[at]yahoo.com, condemnedknight2 aim Timezone: EST CHARACTER INFORMATION: Character Name/Aliases (if any): Warren Kenneth Worthington III Age: 25 Codename: Angel, Avenging Angel Affiliation: X-Men, Hellfire Club (inherited membership from his father), Worthington Industries Personality: A billionaire by birth, Warren has never wanted for anything. Hand fed with the proverbial Silver Spoon. He isn’t too extravagant with his wealth, or at least he doesn’t think so, and frequently uses his money to help Xavier repair or remodel the school. That generosity aside, Warren is generally seen as a cocky playboy in these early years. He is suave and debonair, eager to make friends with others who are mutants, though he usually comes off as arrogant and self-centered. Xavier constantly must remind him to not be over confident, as it could lead to carelessness and his death. After being rejected and almost convinced to take a “mutant cure” by his father, Warren has started to come to terms with what he is now. He is loyal, at this point in time, to the X-men, and supportive of the school and of Xavier, his mentor. He is very outspoken and likes to be a leader, rather than be told what to do. History: Warren took it upon himself to use his abilities to help others long before he meets Xavier and the X-Men. Born in Centerport, New York, and having extremely wealthy parents, Warren attended the best school; Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire. It’s while attending there that he begins to grow white feathered wings from his shoulder blades. At first he is horrified and hides it, constantly pulling the feathers, wearing a coat, strapping them down tight against his back and once, even trying to cut the wings off. The last thing he wants to do is embarrass his father and family name by being known as a freak. No matter how hard he tries, however, the wings keep growing to their full size and eventually, Warren decides they could be useful. Fun even. He starts sneaking out of the dorms to practice flying at night and becomes good at it. When a fire breaks out in his dormitory, he takes action and dresses in a costume he had borrowed from the props in the school’s drama department. He appears as a masked angel from heaven, and rescues his fellow Exonians from the flames. From then on, Warren called himself the Avenging Angel, a self proclaimed super hero and continues to use his abnormal strength and angelic wings to save people in trouble. He graduates from school and begins college at Yale, living at home during this time. One night, however, after returning from a busy night of super hero antics, he is changing in his room, cleaning his wings in front of a mirror when his father walks into the room. The confrontation is forever fresh in his memory because at that time, Mutants were popping up everywhere and were causing a media uproar. Feared by normal humans and, in some cases, hunted and killed. The look in Warren Worthington Jr.’s eyes as he looked upon his mutant son was condescending, disappointed, accusatory. Angel felt like he had failed the one person he owed everything to. It’s because of this feeling of failure that Warren agrees to be the first test mutant to take the cure his father and Worthington Industries had manufactured to destroy the mutant gene and make them normal again. He wants desperately to have his father’s approval, but during the process, strapped to the lab table and about to receive the injection, Warren remembers the faces of everyone he had saved because of his mutation. Abruptly, he breaks the restraints and knocks down the scientists with his large outstretched wings, telling his shocked father that he is what he is, and won’t change for him. Then he breaks through a window and escapes, flying to safety. It was then that Xavier contacted him and offered safe haven at his School for the Gifted, and Warren travels there to begin to rebuild his life. His father, surprisingly, doesn’t cut off his funds or spread word of his mutant son, but word leaks anyway, and the Avenging Angel is unmasked. However, Warren’s association with Xavier and his school is a closely guarded secret from the media. Powers & Special Abilities: From Marvel Wikia: Wings: Angel possessed the superhuman ability to fly by means of his natural wings, which spanned sixteen feet from wingtip to wingtip. Fully feathered like a bird's, the wings have a very flexible skeletal structure, enabling him to press them to the back of his torso and legs with only the slightest bulge visible under his clothing. Angel flies by flapping his wings, as a bird does. Aerial Adaptation: Angel's entire anatomy is naturally adapted to flying. His bones are hollow like a birds, making him weigh far less than usual for a man of his build. His body is virtually devoid of fat and possesses greater proportionate muscle mass than an ordinary human does. His eyes are specially adapted to withstand high-speed winds which would hurt the average human eye. He possesses a special membrane in his respiratory system enabling him to extract oxygen from the air at high velocities or altitudes. Peak Human Strength: Due to his body's natural mutation, the Angel possesses greater physical strength than an ordinary human equal to him in body weight and can lift about 500 lbs. Superhuman Stamina: The Angel's musculature produces less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of an ordinary human. He can physically exert himself at peak capacity for several hours before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him. His physical stamina while in flight is considerably greater. The Angel can fly non-stop under his own power for a maximum of approximately twelve hours. Contrary to some reports, he couldn't make a transatlantic flight solely on his own power. During his one attempt to do so, he hitched a ride on an airplane for part of the way. Superhuman Durability: The tissues of Angel's body are somewhat harder and more durable than that of an ordinary human, though he is far from invulnerable. While he can be injured in ways comparable to an ordinary human, his body is structured to withstand the friction caused by flying at high speeds. He can also withstand impact forces that would severely injure or kill an ordinary human with only mild to moderate discomfort. Regenerative Healing Factor: The Angel possesses an accelerated healing factor that enables him to repair damaged tissue with much greater speed and efficiency than an ordinary human. He can completely recover from non-fatal injuries such as slash and punctures within a matter of hours and injuries as severe as broken bones within a few days. This ability extends to being transferred by blood, thus he can heal others who come into contact with his blood, provided they have the same blood type. It is possible that his healing factor also protects him from diseases. Flight: The Angel's normal cruising speed averages around 70 miles per hour (112 kph), though he is capable of diving swoops that reach up to 180 miles per hour (290 kph). He can fly at 150 miles per hour (240 kph) without the help of a tail wind for up to half an hour at a time before tiring to an appreciable degree. Though he generally flies beneath the height of the clouds (6,500 feet)(1981 meters)he can reach a height of 10,000 feet (3000 meters)with little effort. With severe strain he can attain the highest recorded altitude of a bird in flight (African geese at 29,000 feet (8840 meters) above sea level), but he could only remain that high for several minutes. Expert Combatant: Angel is a skilled combatant, especially in aerial hand-to-hand combat. Business Sense: He is a talented businessman whose wealth ranks him in the lower part of the Fortune 500 list. Weaknesses: He has a weakness for beautiful women.
